The present invention relates to polyimide powder and a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method of polyimide powder according to the present invention can increase process efficiency by simplifying the manufacturing process and is environmentally friendly by excluding the use of irritating solvents, and the polyimide powder according to the present invention has a relatively bright color compared to conventional polyimide powder, so that defects can be easily detected during powder molding, and has excellent processability due to excellent elongation and tensile strength. To this end, the polyimide powder contains a dianhydride monomer component and a diamine monomer component as polymerization units, wherein D50 is 3 ㎛ or less and the L* value of the CIE (L*a*b*) color coordinate system is 40 or more. 본 발명은 폴리이미드 분말 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 폴리이미드 분말의 제조방법은 제조 공정을 단순화하여 공정 효율을 높일 수 있으며, 자극적인 용매를 사용하지 않아 친환경적이고, 본 발명에 따른 폴리이미드 분말은 종래 폴리이미드 분말에 비해 상대적으로 밝은 색을 띄기 때문에 분말 성형 시 결점을 쉽게 발견할 수 있으며, 신율 및 인장강도가 우수하여 가공성이 우수하다.
