Summary: | Provided is a pyrimidine derivative that contributes to the improvement of the substantial driving voltage, efficiency, and lifespan of an organic electroluminescent device. An organic electroluminescent device according to the present invention comprises: a first electrode; a second electrode; an organic material layer interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, which consists of one or more layers; and an electron transfer layer, wherein the organic material layer or the electron transfer layer includes a pyrimidine derivative represented by the following chemical formula 1.
