A non-dielectric is surrounded by a surface in contact with the liquid and forms a triple interface. The non-conductive liquid contains 0.0001 wt% to 1 wt% of a surface absorbent. The surface absorbent is an amphiphilic molecule that has a solubility of less than 0.1 wt% in water at 25 ℃. 전기습윤 광학장치는 전도액체와 비전도액체를 포함하며, 상기 액체는 비혼합성이다. 비유전체는 상기 액체가 접촉되는 면에 둘러싸여지고 삼중 인터페이스를 형성한다. 비전도성 0.0001 중량%에서 1 중량%의 액체는 표면 흡수제를 포함한다. 상기 표면 흡수제는 물에서 25서 약 0.1 중량퍼센트 보다 낮은 용해도를 갖는 양친매성 분자이다.
