본 개시의 헌팅 검지 장치는, 기화기를 구비하는 엔진의 헌팅을 검지하기 위한 헌팅 검지 장치이다. 헌팅 검지 장치는, 온도 센서가 계측한 외기 온도와 엔진의 회전수를 취득하도록 구성된 취득부와, 외기 온도가 제1기준치 이하에서 회전수의 변동 상태가 검출되었을 경우에 헌팅을 검지하도록 구성된 검지부와, 엔진의 흡기 통로에 마련된 초크 밸브의 개도를 제어하도록 구성된 개도 제어부를 구비한다. 개도 제어부는, 검지부가 헌팅을 검지했을 경우에는, 초크 밸브의 개도를 작게 하기 위한 폐쇄 제어를 실행한다. A hunting detection device of the present disclosure is for detecting hunting in an engine equipped with a carburetor. The hunting detection device comprises: an acquisition unit that is configured to acquire the engine speed and the outside air temperature which is measured by a temperature sensor; a detection unit that is configured to detect hunting if a speed fluctuation state in which the outside air temperature is equal to or below a first reference value is detected; and an opening degree controller that is configured to control the opening degree of a choke valve provided to an intake passage of the engine. If the detection unit detects hunting, the opening degree controller executes closing control to reduce the opening degree of the choke valve.
