An electronic apparatus may comprise: a memory which stores a predetermined parameter; a communication interface; and a processor which acquires a first signal of an enhanced audio return channel (eARC) format based on the predetermined parameter, controls a communication interface to transmit the acquired first signal to an external speaker, changes the parameter when a first error signal is received by means of the communication interface corresponding to the first signal transmitted from the external speaker, acquires a second signal of the eARC format based on the changed parameter, and controls the communication interface to transmit the acquired second signal to the external speaker.
