The present invention provides a pipe joint with excellent durability, which can prevent a male member from being separated from a female member even when relative rotation between the male member and the female member is repeated due to vibration in a state in which fluid pressure works, and an installation method thereof. The pipe joint comprises: a cylindrical adapter (2) which holds a diameter-expandable C-ring (7) supported within a first locking groove (5) formed on the inner circumferential surface thereof; and a body (3) which has a cylindrical shape having a second locking groove (15) formed on the outer circumferential surface thereof, and is connected to the adapter (2) through the C-ring (7) by being inserted into the C-ring (7) while pushing and expanding the C-ring (7). The C-ring (7) is a circular ring with a rectangular longitudinal section partially cut away, and has a first tapered surface (5a) which is provided on an open side part of the adapter (2) of the first locking groove (5) to have a diameter reduced toward the opening direction of the adapter (2).
