The present invention relates to a display device capable of expanding a display area such that an image can be displayed even on a sub display area in which an electronic component is disposed, and preventing a border between a main display area and the sub display area from becoming visible, and electronic equipment including the same. The display device includes: a main display area; a sub display area adjacent to the main display area; an intermediate display area located between the main display area and the sub display area; a plurality of sub pixel electrodes disposed in the sub display area, and having an elliptical shape with a major axis and a minor axis; and a plurality of sub pixel circuits disposed in the intermediate display area, and electrically connected to the plurality of sub pixel electrodes, respectively.
