The electrolyte for a lithium metal battery of the present invention includes lithium salt and tetrahydrofuran (THF). The electrolyte for a lithium metal battery includes ion complexes in which lithium ions, anions, and a solvent are aggregated by solvation of the lithium salt and the THF.
