The present invention relates to a composition comprising a derivative of skullcapflavone II represented by Chemical formula 1 for preventing or treating atopic dermatitis. The skullcapflavone II, or an active ingredient of the composition according to the present invention shows an excellent anti-inflammatory effect and an itching alleviation effect on atopic dermatitis in in vitro and in vivo experiments, so that the composition can be useful as a preventive or therapeutic agent for atopic dermatitis, which can replace or be used in combination with a conventional therapeutic agent.
