The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for displaying three-dimensional (3D) tooth image data to display 3D tooth images accurately classified by the tooth number and a training method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for displaying 3D image data comprises: a tooth division unit dividing the boundaries of each object within a tooth cross-sectional image generated by dividing an input 3D tooth image in the axial direction; a tooth detection unit recognizing a tooth area among the objects in the tooth cross-sectional image and detecting the tooth number of each tooth belonging to the tooth area; and a tooth image acquisition unit generating a 3D image for each tooth on the basis of the boundary of each object and the tooth number of each tooth in each tooth cross-sectional image acquired through the tooth division unit and the tooth detection unit, wherein a method for displaying the 3D image for each tooth is different according to the tooth number. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 3차원 치아 이미지 표시 장치는 입력된 3차원 치과 이미지에 대해 액시얼(Axial) 방향으로 분할하여 생성된 치과 단면 이미지 내에서 각 객체의 경계를 분할하는 치아 분할부, 치과 단면 이미지 내의 객체중에서 치아 영역을 인식하고, 치아 영역에 속하는 각 치아의 치아 번호를 검출하는 치아 검출부 및 치아 분할부 및 치아 검출부를 통해 획득된 각 치과 단면 이미지 내의 각 객체의 경계 및 각 치아의 치아 번호를 기초로, 각 치아별 3차원 이미지를 생성하되, 각 치아별 3차원 이미지는 치아번호에 따라 표시방법이 상이한 치아 이미지 획득부를 포함할 수 있다.
