에어로졸 발생 장치용 가열 요소(1)로서, 가열 요소는 제1 단부(10a)로부터 제2 단부(10b)까지 연장되고 적어도 제1 및 제2 전기 콘택 부품(12, 13)을 구비하는 가열 본체(10)를 포함하고, 가열 본체(10)는 판-형상이고 판-형상 본체(10) 내에서 실질적으로 중앙의 공기 유동 통로를 형성하는 개구부(11)를 포함하고; 가열 요소는 판-형상 본체(10)의 외부 주변부와 그 내부의 개구부(11) 사이에서 가열 구배를 제공하도록 구성되고; 가열 요소는 판-형상의 (10)의 적어도 하나의 측면 상에서 메시 재료(14)를 추가로 포함한다. 판-형상 본체의 측면들에 수직으로 횡방향 횡단면으로 측정된 판-형상 본체의 두께는 판의 외부 주변부로부터 개구부까지 가변적이고, 외부 주변부와 개구부 사이에서 점진적으로 얇아진다. A heating element (1) for an aerosol generating device, the heating element comprising a heating body (10) extending from a first end (10a) to a second end (10b) and provided with at least first and second electric contact parts (12, 13) wherein the eating body (10) is plate-shaped and comprises an opening (11) forming a substantially central airflow passage in the plate-shaped body (10); wherein the heating element is configured to provide a heating gradient between an outer periphery of the plate-shaped body (10) and the opening (11) therein; wherein the heating element further comprises a mesh material (14) on at least one side of the plate-shaped body (10). A thickness of the plate-shaped body measured in a transversal cross-section thereof perpendicular to sides of the plate-shaped body is variable from the outer periphery of the plate to the opening, and gradually diminishes between the outer periphery and the opening.
