Summary:Disclosed is a backplate for a flexible display device, which supports a flexible display panel having display elements on a flexible substrate. The backplate of the present invention comprises: a support plate made of a material having greater Young's modulus than the flexible substrate and having opened patterns formed on a folded area; a first planarization layer disposed to cover a first surface of the support plate and made of a first composite material including a first elastic polymer and a first carbon material; a second planarization layer disposed to cover a second surface of the support plate, which faces the first surface and made of a second composite material including a second elastic polymer and a second carbon material; and filling patterns disposed to fill the insides of the opened patterns, connected to the first planarization layer and the second planarization layer, and made of a third composite material including a third elastic polymer and a third carbon material.
