Summary:The present invention relates to a display device that improves the transmittance of a second display area where electronic components are disposed and prevents the performance of electronic components from deteriorating, and a manufacturing method thereof. The display device including a first display area, a second display area including a transmissive area, and a peripheral area surrounding the first display area and the second display area comprises: a first light-emitting element disposed in the first display area; a first pixel circuit electrically connected to the first light-emitting element; a second light-emitting element disposed in the second display area; a second pixel circuit disposed in the peripheral area and electrically connected to the second light-emitting element; an organic insulating layer disposed between the second light-emitting element and the second pixel circuit; a connection wire electrically connecting the second light-emitting element and the second pixel circuit to each other wherein at least a portion thereof is disposed in the second display area; and a phase compensation layer disposed in the second display area and overlapping the connection wire on a plane.
