Summary:The present invention relates to a laser welding device capable of more effectively welding a joined part of quartz by using a laser and a welding rod, and a control method thereof. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, the laser welding device includes: a laser radiation unit radiating a laser to a joined part, in which a first base material of quartz quality and a second base material of quartz quality placed to be joined to one side of the first base material while forming an inclination with the first base material are joined to each other, and a welding rod located in the joined part; and a control unit controlling a radiation position and a focus position of the laser radiated from the laser radiation unit, wherein the control unit controls the laser radiation unit such that the laser can be radiated to the joined part in a state in which the laser is converged or diffused. 본 발명은 레이저와 용접봉을 이용하여, 쿼츠의 접합부위를 보다 효과적으로 용접하는 레이저 용접장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명의 일 형태에 따르면, 쿼츠 재질의 제1모재 및 상기 제1모재와 경사를 이루면서 상기 제1모재의 일측면에 접합되도록 배치되는 쿼츠 재질의 제2모재가 상호 접합되는 접합부위 및 상기 접합부위에 위치되는 용접봉에 레이저를 조사하는 레이저 조사부; 상기 레이저 조사부에서 조사되는 레이저의 조사위치 및 초점위치를 제어하는 제어부;를 포함하며, 상기 제어부는, 상기 레이저가 수렴되거나 또는 확산되는 상태에서 상기 접합부위에 조사되도록 상기 레이저 조사부를 제어하는 레이저 용접장치가 개시된다.
