The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a stator. The method comprises the steps of: providing a body (1) having a cavity (12) for accommodating a rotor and a plurality of slots (2) extending axially through the body (1) and for accommodating an electrical conductor (7) of a winding; providing a slot insulator (3) such that an inside of each slot is electrically insulated from the body (1) and formed in a fluid-tight manner; and forming one end plate (4) at each end of both sides of the body (1), wherein the end plate (4) is attached to the body (1) in a fluid-tight manner, accordingly, a fluid cannot reach the cavity (12) of the body (1) from a gap between the end plate (4) and the body (1), the end plate (4) has a radial part (5) and an axial part (6), and the axial part (6) having an insert (8).
