Summary:A backlight unit of one embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a substrate; a light source disposed on one surface of the substrate to emit a light; and an optical guide that is a three-dimensional structure that surrounds a light source and guides one part of the light emitted by the light source toward a side surface of the light source, wherein the optical guide comprises an upper part surface in which the light irradiated by the light source that passes through an opening is formed at a position corresponding to the light source, an inner surface that surrounds the light source and receives the light emitted by the light source, and an outer surface that receives the light from the inner surface to emit to the outside of the optical guide. Therefore, the present invention is capable of improving an image quality. 본 개시의 일 실시예의 백라이트 유닛는, 기판, 기판의 일 면에 배치되어 빛을 조사하는 광원 및 광원을 둘러싸는 입체 구조물이며, 광원이 조사하는 빛의 일부를 광원의 측면 방향으로 가이드하는 광학 가이드를 포함하고, 광학 가이드는, 광원이 조사하는 빛이 통과하는 개구가 광원에 대응되는 위치에 형성된 상면, 광원을 둘러싸며 광원이 조사하는 빛을 전달받는 내측면 및 내측면으로부터 빛을 전달받아 광학 가이드 외부로 방출하는 외측면을 포함한다.
