Summary: | The present disclosure relates to a communication technique for converging a 5G communication system with IoT technology to support a higher data transfer rate beyond a 4G system, and a system thereof. The present disclosure can be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail, security- and safety-related services, or the like) based on 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology. In addition, the present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for transmitting a signal through multiple slots in a wireless communication system. A method of a terminal in a communication system comprises the steps of: receiving transport block over multi slot (TBoMS) configuration information including one transport block from a base station; receiving downlink control information for scheduling the transmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) from the base station; performing a physical layer signal processing procedure based on the TBoMS configuration information and the downlink control information; and transmitting the PUSCH to the base station in multiple slots.
