Provided is a method for identifying a touch type of a touch input of a user in an electronic device. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining touch data from the touch input received from the user; determining a touch recognition model set comprising touch recognition models to be used to identify the type of touch input of the user, among a plurality of touch recognition models corresponding to a plurality of time intervals included in a time for which the touch input was maintained, wherein each of the plurality of touch recognition models is trained to identify the touch type of the touch input from the touch data obtained in a time interval corresponding to each of the plurality of touch recognition models among the touch data; obtaining touch type probability values for the touch input of the user by applying the touch data to the touch recognition models included in the touch recognition model set; and identifying the touch type of the touch input based on the obtained touch type probability values. 사용자로부터 수신된 터치 입력으로부터 터치 데이터를 획득하는 단계; 상기 터치 입력이 유지된 시간 내에 포함된 복수의 시간 구간들에 대응되는 복수의 터치 인식 모델들 중에서, 상기 사용자의 터치 입력의 유형을 식별하기 위해 사용될 터치 인식 모델들로 구성되는, 터치 인식 모델 세트를 결정하되, 상기 복수의 터치 인식 모델들은 각각, 상기 터치 데이터 중에서 상기 복수의 터치 인식 모델들 각각에 대응되는 시간 구간에서 획득된 터치 데이터로부터 상기 터치 입력의 터치 유형을 식별하도록 학습된 것인, 단계; 상기 터치 데이터를 상기 터치 인식 모델 세트에 포함된 터치 인식 모델들에 적용하여, 상기 사용자의 터치 입력에 대한 터치 유형 확률 값들을 획득하는 단계; 및 상기 획득된 터치 유형 확률 값들에 기초하여 상기 터치 입력의 터치 유형을 식별하는 단계를 포함하는, 전자 장치에서, 사용자의 터치 입력의 터치 유형을 식별하는 방법이 제공된다.
