Summary:An electronic device and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The electronic device according to the technical idea of the present disclosure may include: a receiver; memory; a processor configured to respond to being electrically connected to a source device, retrieve whether FRL transmission bandwidth data for the source device is stored in memory, perform FRL link training with a bandwidth value of FRL transmission bandwidth data determined according to a search result, and process a content signal transmitted in a transmission bandwidth when FRL link training is completed; and a playback device configured to perform a playback operation based on the processed content signal. 전자 장치 및 이의 동작 방법이 개시된다. 본 개시의 기술적 사상에 따른 전자 장치는, 수신기, 메모리, 소스 장치에 전기적으로 연결됨에 응답하여 소스 장치에 대한 FRL 전송 대역폭 데이터가 메모리에 저장되어 있는지 여부를 검색하고, 검색 결과에 따라 결정된 FRL 전송 대역폭 데이터의 대역폭 값으로 FRL 링크 트레이닝을 수행하고, FRL 링크 트레이닝이 완료된 때의 전송 대역폭으로 전송되는 컨텐츠 신호를 처리하도록 구성된 프로세서 및 처리된 컨텐츠 신호를 기초로 재생 동작을 수행하도록 구성된 재생 장치를 포함한다.
