A vehicle identification system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a license plate attached to a vehicle; a barcode formed on the license plate and including identification information of the vehicle; a terminal capable of scanning a barcode formed on the license plate of the vehicle; and a server which stores the vehicle identification information included in the barcode and vehicle-related information, and communicates with a terminal. When the barcode is scanned, the terminal transmits the identification information of the barcode to the server. The server receives the identification information of the barcode scanned from the terminal, when receiving a transmission request for the vehicle-related information, searches for the vehicle-related information based on the received identification information of the barcode and transmits the searched vehicle-related information to the terminal. The present invention can strengthen a security function. 본 개시의 일 실시예에 따른 차량 식별 시스템은 차량에 부착되는 번호판, 번호판에 형성되고, 차량의 식별 정보를 포함하는 바코드, 차량의 번호판에 형성된 바코드를 스캔할 수 있는 단말기, 바코드에 포함된 차량의 식별 정보와 차량의 관련 정보를 저장하며, 단말기와 통신하는 서버를 포함하고, 단말기는 바코드를 스캔하면, 서버에 바코드의 식별 정보를 전송하고, 서버는 단말기로부터 스캔된 바코드의 식별 정보를 수신하고, 차량의 관련 정보에 대한 전송 요청을 수신하는 경우, 수신된 바코드의 식별 정보에 기초하여 차량의 관련 정보를 검색하고, 검색된 차량의 관련 정보를 단말기에 전송할 수 있다.
