Summary:The objective of one embodiment of the present invention is to provide a secondary battery that can directly connect an electrode assembly to a can and/or a terminal without a lead tab to reduce electric resistance and can also increase the capacity of the battery cell as the lead tab is removed. The secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a can; an electrode assembly accommodated in the can to have a first non-coating unit extended in a first direction and a second non-coating unit extended in a second direction opposite to the first direction; a first current collector plate electrically connected to the first non-coating unit of the electrode assembly; a first terminal unit joined to the can to be electrically connected to the first current collector plate; and a second terminal unit joined to the can to be electrically connected to a second non-coating unit of the electrode assembly. 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 해결하고자 하는 기술적 과제는 전극 조립체를 리드 탭없이 캔 및/또는 단자에 직접 연결하여 전기 저항을 감소시키고 또한 리드 탭이 제거되어 전지 용량도 증가시킬 수 있는 이차 전지를 제공하는데 있다. 이를 위해 본 발명의 실시 예는 캔; 상기 캔에 수용되되 제1방향으로 제1무지부가 연장되고 제1방향과 반대인 제2방향으로 제2무지부가 연장된 전극 조립체; 상기 전극 조립체의 제1무지부에 전기적으로 연결된 제1집전판; 상기 캔에 결합되되 상기 제1집전판에 전기적으로 연결된 제1단자부; 및 상기 캔에 결합되되 상기 전극 조립체의 제2무지부에 전기적으로 연결된 제2단자부를 포함하는, 이차 전지를 제공한다.
