The present invention relates to a cable protection device for a machine tool, comprising: a universal head equipped with a rotating part and rotatably and tiltably installed on a ram body; a cable having one side connected to the rotating part of the universal head and the other side connected to a supply source; a rotating unit disposed in the rotating part of the universal head to wind or unwind the cable as the rotating unit rotates in association with a rotating direction and a rotation angle of the rotating part of the universal head; and a moving unit disposed on the ram body so as to be movable in a linear reciprocating manner so as to compensate for a change in the length of the cable wound or unwound on the rotating unit according to the rotation direction and rotation angle of the rotating unit, thereby capable of fundamentally preventing twisting or tangling of the cable connected to the universal head to increase the durability of the cable when the universal head rotates. 본 발명은 회전부를 구비하고, 램바디에 회전 및 틸팅 가능하게 설치되는 유니버셜헤드; 상기 유니버셜헤드의 회전부에 일측이 연결되고, 타측은 공급원에 연결되는 케이블; 상기 유니버셜헤드의 회전부의 회전방향과 회전각도와 연동하여 회전함에 따라 상기 케이블을 감거나 풀수 있도록 상기 유니버셜헤드의 회전부에 배치되는 회전유닛; 및 상기 회전유닛의 회전방향과 회전각도에 따라 상기 회전유닛에 감기거나 풀리는 상기 케이블의 길이 변화를 보상하도록 직선왕복 이동 가능하게 상기 램바디에 배치되는 이동유닛;을 포함하는 공작기계의 케이블 보호장치에 관한 것이다.
