The present invention relates to a power generating device for a ship and a power distributing system for a ship, wherein a converter can be protected from fault current. The power generating device for a ship according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a power generator for generating AC power; a converter for converting the AC power from the power generator into DC power and supplying the same to a preset load of a ship; a control part for controlling the formation of a bypass path of fault current flowing into the converter when fault current occurs; and a protection part for protecting the converter by generating a bypass path of the fault current transmitted to the converter according to the control of the control part. The power distributing system according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise: a plurality of power generating devices including at least one of the power generating device to provide DC current; a first and a second DC bus for transmitting the DC power of each of the plurality of power generating devices to a load; and a DC bus tie formed between the first and the second DC bus to block power transmission during fault. 본 발명은 고장 전류로부터 컨버터를 보호할 수 있는 선박 발전 장치 및 선박 전력 분배 시스템에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 선박 발전 장치는 교류 전력을 생성하는 발전기, 상기 발전기로부터의 교류 전력을 직류 전력으로 변환하여 사전에 설정된 선박의 부하에 공급하는 컨버터, 고장 전류 발생시 상기 컨버터로 유입되는 상기 고장 전류의 우회 경로의 형성을 제어하는 제어부, 상기 제어부의 제어에 따라 상기 컨버터로 전달되는 고장 전류의 우회 경로를 생성하여 상기 컨버터를 보호하는 보호부를 포함할 수 있고, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 선박 전력 분배 시스템은 적어도 하나의 상기 선박 발전 장치를 구비하여 각각 직류 전력을 제공하는 복수의 선박 발전 장치, 상기 복수의 선박 발전 장치 각각의 직류 전력을 부하에 전달하는 제1 및 제2 직류 버스, 상기 제1 및 제2 직류 버스 간에 형성되어 고장시 전력 전달을 차단시키는 직류 버스 타이를 포함할 수 있다.
