The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating coronavirus infectious disease comprising low molecular weight chitosan or chitooligosaccharide, and more specifically to the composition for preventing or treating coronavirus infectious disease comprising low molecular weight chitosan or chitooligosaccharide in a specific molecular weight range exhibiting antiviral efficacy against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Since the composition of the present invention comprising low molecular weight chitosan or chitooligosaccharide in a specific molecular weight range inhibits translation, replication, and proliferation of SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19 infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection can be effectively prevented or treated. The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating coronavirus infectious disease comprising low molecular weight chitosan or chitooligosaccharide as an active ingredient. 본 발명은 저분자 키토산 또는 키토올리고당을 포함하는 코로나바이러스 감염증 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 SARS-CoV-2(Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2)에 항바이러스 효능을 나타내는 특정 분자량 범위의 저분자 키토산 또는 키토올리고당을 포함하는 코로나바이러스 감염증 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 특정 분자량 범위의 저분자 키토산 또는 키토올리고당을 포함하는 본 발명의 조성물은 SARS-CoV-2의 번역/복제/증식을 억제하는바, SARS-CoV-2 감염에 따른 COVID-19 감염증을 효과적으로 예방 또는 치료할 수 있다.
