Summary:The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, an electrode including the same, and a lithium secondary battery. More specifically, the positive electrode active material includes a carbon material and sulfur, and the carbon material includes an additive represented by chemical formula 1 on the surface of the carbon material and is formed on the surface of the carbon material included in the electrode active material, which functions as a redox mediator and at the same time does not dissolve in an electrolyte, so it performs a function of electrically separating a positive electrode and a negative electrode, therefore the battery performance can be improved by suppressing side reactions in a battery. 본 발명은 리튬 이차전지용 양극 활물질, 이를 포함하는 전극 및 리튬 이차전지에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는, 상기 양극 활물질은 탄소재 및 황을 포함하며, 상기 탄소재는 탄소재 표면에 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 첨가제를 포함하며, 전극 활물질에 포함된 탄소재의 표면에 형성되고, 이는 산화 환원 매개 기능을 하는 동시에 전해액에 용해되지 않아, 양극과 음극을 전기적으로 분리하는 기능을 하므로 전지 내에서 부반응을 억제하여 전지 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다.
