Summary:According to the present invention, disclosed is a battery pack with increased safety against fire or explosion. To this end, the battery pack according to the present invention includes: a battery module having a plurality of battery cells; a pack housing having a first case that is configured to accommodate the battery module therein and to cover one side of the battery module and has the other side open, and a second case that is configured to cover the other side of the battery module and has one side open, and one side end coupled to the other end of the first case; and a sealing member that is configured to melt at a predetermined temperature or higher and to be introduced into a gap between one side end of the first case and the other side end of the second case. 본 발명은 화재나 폭발에 대한 안전성을 높인 배터리 팩을 개시한다. 상기와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명에 따른 배터리 팩은, 복수의 전지셀을 구비하는 배터리 모듈; 상기 배터리 모듈을 내부에 수용하도록 구성되고, 상기 배터리 모듈의 일측을 커버하도록 구성되며 타측이 개방된 제1 케이스, 및 상기 배터리 모듈의 타측을 커버하도록 구성되고 일측이 개방되며 일측단이 상기 제1 케이스의 타측단과 결합된 제2 케이스를 구비한 것을 팩 하우징; 및 소정 온도 이상에서 용융되어 상기 제1 케이스의 일측단과 상기 제2 케이스의 타측단 사이의 간극으로 유입되도록 구성된 밀폐 부재를 포함한다.
