Disclosed is an apparatus and a method for sorting the number of rod-shaped objects. The apparatus for sorting the number of rod-shaped objects according to an embodiment includes a first conveyor and a second conveyor disposed consecutively in the transfer direction of the rod-shaped object for the transfer of the rod-shaped object, wherein the first conveyor transfers the rod-shaped object in the direction of the second conveyor, and the second conveyor has the height that may be adjusted to a first height that is horizontal to the first conveyor to allow the transfer of the rod-shaped object from the first conveyor to the second conveyor, and a second height higher than the first height to block the transfer of the rod-shaped object from the first conveyor to the second conveyor by supporting the rod-shaped object located at the front end of the transfer direction of the first conveyor.
