The present invention relates to primers and probes for detecting the human immunodeficiency virus type 2, and a method for detecting the human immunodeficiency virus type 2 using the same, wherein a primer and probe set of the present invention can detect the human immunodeficiency virus type 2 with high sensitivity and specificity, and can obtain reproducible results when performing real-time RT-PCR using the same, so that the primer and probe set of the present invention can be usefully used for detection and diagnosis of the human immunodeficiency virus type 2. 본 발명은 인간 면역결핍 바이러스 타입 2를 검출하기 위한 프라이머 및 프로브, 및 이를 이용한 인간 면역결핍 바이러스 타입 2의 검출방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 프라이머 및 프로브 세트는 인간 면역결핍 바이러스 타입 2를 높은 민감도 및 특이도로 검출할 수 있고, 이를 이용한 실시간 RT-PCR 수행 시 재현성 있는 결과를 얻을 수 있으므로, 본 발명의 프라이머 및 프로브 세트는 인간 면역결핍 바이러스 타입 2의 검출 및 진단에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
