Provided are a training assisting system and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a training assisting system comprises: a heart rate monitor for measuring the heart rate of a user; and a user terminal which receives the current heart rate measured by the heart rate monitor, determines an exercise level and a duration of the exercise level according to the current heart rate, and displays game content including a user character linked with the exercise level. Here, the user terminal divides and displays the exercise level into a plurality of sections, but displays the user character so that the same is located in an exercise level section corresponding to the current heart rate or the current heart rate and the location information of the user, and provides differential compensation according to at least one of the exercise level and the duration of the exercise level. The compensation includes compensation for game characters or provision of sound sources requested in advance.
