Provided are a gaze tracking method and gaze tracking sensor. A method for an electronic device including a gaze tracking sensor to determine a gaze direction may comprise: a step of irradiating a light pattern which is output from at least one parallel light source to a corneal surface; a step of detecting at least a portion of the reflected light pattern from the corneal surface guided through a sensor waveguide; a step of obtaining a mapping image corresponding to at least a portion of the light pattern; and a step of determining a gaze direction based on the obtained mapping image. 시선 추적 방법 및 시선 추적 센서가 제공된다. 시선 추적 센서를 포함하는 전자 장치가 시선 방향을 결정하는 방법은, 적어도 하나의 평행광 광원에서 출력된 광 패턴을 각막 표면에 조사하는 단계, 센서 도파관을 통해 가이드된, 각막 표면에서 반사된 광 패턴의 적어도 일부를 검출하는 단계, 광 패턴의 적어도 일부에 대응되는 매핑 이미지를 획득하는 단계, 및 획득된 매핑 이미지에 기초하여 시선 방향을 결정하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
