A first mark drawing part draws a first alignment mark on a principal plane of a bottom side of a substrate (9) held by a first stage (21a). A second mark drawing part draws a second alignment mark on a principal plane on a bottom side of the substrate (9) held by a second stage (21b). A second alignment mark has a different external appearance from the first alignment mark. Therefore, a conveyance mechanism used in drawing a pattern on one principal plane of the substrate (9) can be easily identified by observing an alignment mark drawn on the other principal plane of the substrate (9). Thus, a pattern can be drawn on the other principal plane of the substrate (9) after adjusting a drawing position while considering the front/rear positional relationship peculiar to the conveyance mechanism used in drawing the pattern. As a result, the relative positional accuracy of a pattern drawn on principal planes of both sides of the substrate (9) can be improved. 제 1 마크 묘화부는, 제 1 스테이지 (21a) 에 유지된 기판 (9) 의 하측의 주면에 제 1 얼라인먼트 마크를 묘화한다. 제 2 마크 묘화부는, 제 2 스테이지 (21b) 에 유지된 기판 (9) 의 하측의 주면에 제 2 얼라인먼트 마크를 묘화한다. 제 2 얼라인먼트 마크는, 제 1 얼라인먼트 마크와는 외관이 상이하다. 따라서, 기판 (9) 의 일방의 주면에 대한 패턴 묘화시에 이용된 반송 기구를, 기판 (9) 의 타방의 주면에 묘화된 얼라인먼트 마크를 관찰함으로써 용이하게 판별할 수 있다. 이로써, 패턴 묘화시에 이용된 반송 기구에 특유의 표리 위치 관계를 고려하여 묘화 위치의 조절을 행한 후에, 기판 (9) 의 타방의 주면에 패턴을 묘화할 수 있다. 그 결과, 기판 (9) 의 양측의 주면에 묘화된 패턴의 상대적인 위치 정밀도를 향상시킬 수 있다.
