Summary: | Provided is a method of performing ranging on a second device by a first device. According to one embodiment, the method includes: receiving, by a first device, a plurality of timestamps including a first timestamp and a second timestamp; and determining, by the first device, a range (R) with respect to a second device by calculating an average time-of-flight (TOF) of a first wireless signal and a second wireless signal based on the first timestamp and the second timestamp. The first timestamp represents a time-of-arrival (TOA) of the first wireless signal that reaches the second device, and a maximum value possible in the first timestamp is T_max1. The second timestamp represents a time-of-departure (TOD) of a second wireless signal that starts from the second device, and a maximum value possible in the second timestamp is T_max2, which is larger than the T_max1.
