Summary:The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method for improved cell selection and a failure handling process on an integrated access and backhaul system in a wireless communication system. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a communication method of an integrated access backhaul (IAB) node in a wireless communication system includes the steps of: receiving a RRC reconfiguration message from an IAB donor central unit (CU); identifying failure case information and excluded cell information contained in the RRC reconfiguration message; and performing cell selection based on the identified information when detecting a radio link failure (RLF) in connection with a parent node or receiving a recovery failure notification from the parent node. 본 개시의 일 실시예에 따르면, 무선 통신 시스템에서 결합된 액세스 백홀 노드(IAB node, Integrated Access Backhauled node)의 통신 방법은, IAB 도너 CU(donor central unit)로부터 RRCreconfiguration 메시지를 수신하는 단계; 상기 RRCreconfiguration 메시지에 포함되는 실패 경우(failure case) 정보 및 배제되는 셀 정보를 식별하는 단계; 및 상위 노드(parent node)와의 연결에서 RLF(Radio Link Failure)를 검출하거나, 상기 상위 노드로부터 회복 실패 알림(recovery failure notification)을 수신하는 경우, 상기 식별된 정보에 기초하여 셀 선택을 수행하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
