According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a functional block which comprises a block body comprising three or more side surfaces and one bottom surface connected to the lower ends of the side surfaces and having an upper side being open to define an inner space. At least one of the side surfaces is provided with multipurpose holes for at least one of a side planting function and a water permeation function, wherein at least one of the multipurpose holes penetrates the side surfaces of the block body so as to be inclined upward from the inside to the outside of the block body. At least one of the multipurpose holes penetrates the side surface of the block body as the diameter of the multipurpose holes gradually increases from the inside to the outside of the block body. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따르면, 적어도 셋 이상의 측면 및 상기 측면들의 하단들에 연결된 하나의 저면을 포함하며 상측은 개방되어 내부 공간을 정의하는 블록 본체를 포함하는, 기능성 블록이 제공된다. 상기 측면들중 적어도 하나는 적어도 측면식재 기능 및 통수 기능 중 적어도 하나를 위한 다용도 구멍들이 제공되고, 상기 다용도 구멍들 중 적어도 하나는 상기 블록 본체 내부에서 외부로 상향 경사지게 상기 블록 본체의 상기 측면을 관통한다. 상기 다용도 구멍들 중 적어도 하나는 상기 블록 본체 내부에서 외부로 갈수록 그 직경이 점차로 증가하면서 상기 블록 본체의 상기 측면을 관통한다.
