Summary:The sub brake control apparatus of an escalator includes: a main brake for braking the driving motor of the escalator; and a sub brake that performs auxiliary braking with respect to the main brake and applies a braking force when the braking force of the main brake is insufficient; and a motor control part that gets the main brake off when it is determined that the escalator has been driven abnormally through a detection sensor part and a drive chain is not broken, and get the sub brake off to stop the escalator after the main brake is got off and a set time elapses. 에스컬레이터의 보조 브레이크 제어 장치는 에스컬레이터의 구동모터 제동을 수행하는 주브레이크와, 상기 주브레이크에 대하여 보조적인 제동을 수행하며, 상기 주브레이크의 제동력 부족시에 동작하여 제동력을 인가하는 보조브레이크; 및 감지 센서부를 통해 에스컬레이터가 비정상적으로 구동되었다고 판단되고, 구동체인이 파단되지 않았다고 판단된 경우, 상기 주브레이크를 석방(off)시키고, 상기 주브레이크가 석방(off)되고 설정된 시간이 지난 후, 상기 보조브레이크를 석방(off)시켜 에스컬레이터가 정지되도록 제어하는 모터 제어부를 포함한다.
