The present invention relates a golf shoe having a lace fastening system. According to the present invention, the golf shoe comprises an upper, a midsole, and a sole. The upper includes various lace guides separated by gaps. A lace is threaded through the lace guides and can be tightened or loosened by a rotary dial mounted on the shoe. A lace fastening system can be used to close an instep area around the foot to fix the shoe and provide a comfortable fit. The midsole provides cushioning for the shoe. The sole preferably includes a multi-traction member to provide good stability and ground contact.
