Disclosed are a device for detecting and allocating additional power by itself, and a device-related method. The device of the present invention comprises: a first module routing a current from one or more first power pins to a voltage rail having a first voltage level; and a second module connected to second power pins associated with a second voltage level, wherein the second module routes a current from the second power pins through the connected voltage rail to the voltage rail having the first voltage level. The method of the present invention comprises the following steps of: allowing the device to determine whether the presence of unused power pins is detected or not; calculating the total of additional usable power, based on the presence of the unused power pins when the presence thereof is detected; changing the usage of the unused power pins into actively used power pins; and updating the estimated value of the power, based on the total of additional usable power.
