Summary:The present invention relates to a side airbag apparatus for a vehicle, comprising: a first cushion (20) which covers and protects an upper body area (2) of a passenger who is in a relaxation mode by reclining a seatback (1); and a second cushion (30) which covers and protects a head area (3). The side airbag apparatus has a sequential deployment structure wherein the second cushion (3) is deployed after the first cushion (20) is deployed to be sufficiently inflated. The side airbag apparatus sufficiently and effectively protects both of the upper body area (2) and the head area (3) of the passenger in the relaxation mode. 본 발명은 차량용 사이드 에어백장치에 관한 것으로, 시트백(1)을 뒤로 젖혀서 릴렉스모드를 취하고 있는 승객의 상체영역(2)을 커버링해서 보호하는 제1쿠션(20)과, 머리영역(3)을 커버링해서 보호하는 제2쿠션(30)을 포함하고, 제1쿠션(20)이 충분히 부풀려지게 전개된 이후에 제2쿠션(30)이 전개되는 순차적 전개구조로서, 릴렉스모드를 취하고 있는 승객의 상체영역(2)과 머리영역(3)을 모두 다 효과적으로 충분히 보호할 수 있도록 된 것이다.
