The present disclosure provides a bonding tool and a method for bonding a semiconductor device. In one embodiment of the present invention, a system may comprise a laser assisted bonding (lab) tool that includes a stage block and a laser source opposite the stage block. The stage block may be configured to support a first substrate and a first electronic component coupled to the first substrate. The first electronic component includes a first interconnect. The laser source may be configured to emit a first laser toward the stage block to induce a first heat on the first interconnect to bond the first interconnect to the first substrate.
