The present invention relates to a tank wall of a fluid-tight and thermally insulated tank for the storage of liquefied gases. The tank wall includes at least one thermal insulation barrier and at least one sealing membrane. The thermal insulation barrier includes a plurality of thermal insulation panels which are put side by side. Each thermal insulation panel includes support top sheets. The support top sheets of the thermal insulation barrier form a support surface. The sealing membrane includes a plurality of strakes. The support top sheet includes a groove. The tank wall includes a plurality of metal weld supports. Each weld support (15) includes a base held in the grooves and a branch protruding above the support surface between two raised edges of two adjacent strakes. Each of the two raised edges is welded to the weld support (15) inserted between the raised edges. Each weld support (15) includes a main part (32) and at least one weld support end (33). Each main part (32) includes a main base. At least one weld support end (33) includes an end base. The end base is spaced from the main base. The groove at the weld support end (33) includes an attachment.
