Summary:Disclosed is an organic light emitting element including: a first electrode; a second electrode opposed to the first electrode; and an organic layer placed between the first and second electrodes, and including a light emitting layer. The light emitting layer includes a host and a dopant. The host includes first and second compounds. The first and second compounds and the dopant are different from each other. The two types of compounds, having different HOMO and LUMO energy levels, of the host included in the light emitting layer form an exciplex. A difference (△Eexciplex) between HOMO and LUMO energy levels of the exciplex is greater than a difference (△Edopant) between HOMO and LUMO energy levels of the dopant.
