Summary: | The present invention relates to a negative electrode active material for a rechargeable lithium battery, a manufacturing method thereof, and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same. The negative electrode active material for a rechargeable lithium battery comprises: secondary particles in which a plurality of natural graphite primary particles are assembled, wherein the secondary particles include voids; and amorphous carbon positioned in the voids. In a cross section of the negative electrode active material for a rechargeable lithium battery, the area of the amorphous carbon is 10% to 30% with respect to 100% of the total area of the negative electrode active material.
