The present invention relates to a method for switching a direction indicator lamp to prevent car accidents. More specifically, the present invention relates to a technology for controlling the direction of the direction indicator lamp to be the same as the driving direction of a vehicle. In accordance with the present invention, the method for switching the direction indicator lamp to prevent car accidents comprises: a step of determining if the direction indicator lamp for the vehicle is turned on or not; a step of comparing the direction of the direction indicator lamp with the driving direction of an inclination sensor installed on a steering wheel of the vehicle; and a step of controlling to, when the direction of the direction indicator lamp is equal to the driving direction of the vehicle, maintain the status, and when the direction of the direction indicator lamp is not equal to the driving direction of the vehicle, turn on the direction indicator lamp in the opposite direction to the direction of the direction indicator lamp. In accordance with the present invention, the method is capable of enabling a first-time driver or a driver who is not used to driving, providing the right direction information to other drivers including the following driver, and preventing the occurrence of accidents. 본 발명은, 사고 발생을 예방하기 위한 방향지시등 점등 전환 방법에 관한 것으로서, 특히 차량의 주행 방향과 동일하게 방향지시등의 점등 방향을 제어하는 기술에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은, 차량의 방향지시등의 점등이 있는지 판단하는 단계; 상기 점등의 방향과 상기 차량의 핸들에 설치된 기울기 센서에 의한 주행 방향과 비교하는 단계; 및 상기 점등의 방향과 상기 주행의 방향이 일치하면 상태를 유지하고 일치하지 않는 경우 상기 점등의 방향과 반대 방향으로 점등이 되게 제어하는 단계를 포함하는 사고 발생을 예방하기 위한 방향지시등 점등 전환 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 초보 운전이나 운전 미숙의 운전자에게 올바른 방향지시등을 점등하도록 하며, 후방 운전자를 포함하는 타 운전자에게 올바른 방향 정보를 제공함으로써 사고 발생을 미연에 방지할 수 있는 이점이 있다.
