Summary:The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a porous UO_2 pellet, comprising the steps of: manufacturing a U_3O_8 pellet by pressurizing and molding the U_3O_8 powder of spent nuclear fuels; manufacturing a UO_2 pellet by heat-treating the U_3O_8 pellet at a temperature of 550 to 700℃ in a hydrogen atmosphere; and manufacturing a porous UO_2 pellet by heat-treating the UO_2 pellet. The porous UO_2 pellet according to the present invention does not generate CsTcO_4, and so does not require additional separation for the solidification and disposal of CsTcO_4. Equal to or more than 99% of cesium compounds can be removed and the cesium compounds are volatilized and selectively captured in a coal ash filter, thereby enabling efficient disposal. 본 발명은 사용후 핵연료의 U3O8분말을 가압 및 성형하여 U3O8 펠렛을 제조하는 단계; 상기 U3O8 펠렛을 수소분위기하에 550 내지 700℃의 온도에서 열처리하여 UO2 펠렛을 제조하는 단계; 및 상기 UO2 펠렛을 열처리하여 다공성 UO2 펠렛을 제조하는 단계;를 포함하는 다공성 UO2 펠렛의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 다공성 UO2 펠렛은 CsTcO4가 생성되지 않으므로, CsTcO4의 고화 및 처분을 위해 추가 분리가 요구되지 않고, 세슘화합물이 99% 이상 제거될 수 있으며, 세슘화합물을 휘발시켜 석탄회 필터에 선택적으로 포집하기 때문에 효율적인 처분이 가능하다.
