Provided is a method for providing guide data for a medical tool insertion device which is performed by a processor, which includes steps of: setting, as a starting point, the initial position of a front end part of a medical tool inserted into a blood vessel in a blood vessel image; determining, within a path from the starting point to the destination point, a middle target point on the basis of a blood vessel branch point; and providing guide data which corresponds to at least a partial area of the blood vessel image, and which includes at least a part of the middle target point.
