The housing of the delivery unit is provided with a cartridge check finger (14) that comprises a protuberance (16) mounted on an elastic arm (20), the protuberance arranged to engage a portion (3a) of the drug vial (3) when it is inserted in a cavity (28) of the delivery device, the cartridge check finger comprising a blocking shoulder (17a) arranged to engage a blocking shoulder (17b) on the base unit to prevent full coupling of the delivery unit to the base unit when a drug vial is not inserted in said cavity (28) of the delivery device.
