Summary:The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for actively preventing a rear-end collision. More particularly, the apparatus comprises: a sensor unit which acquires information by detecting at least one among a forward driving vehicle that drives in the same lane as a vehicle within a predetermined distance from the vehicle, a collision risk vehicle, and another vehicle driving in an adjacent lane; and a control unit which calculates the possibility of collision between the collision risk vehicle and the vehicle, determines an avoidance direction preferentially from a place where an avoidable area exists in response to the driving of the collision risk vehicle if the possibility of collision is greater than or equal to a threshold, wherein the avoidance direction is determined in the order of the traveling lane of the vehicle and the adjacent lane, performs control so that the vehicle avoids in the determined avoidance direction if the determined avoidance direction is an avoidable area, transmits an avoidance request signal to the forward driving vehicle and other vehicles if the forward driving vehicle and the other vehicles traveling in the determined avoidance direction are present, and performs control so that the vehicle avoids the forward driving vehicle and the other vehicles in response to the responses of the forward driving vehicle and the other vehicles with respect to the avoidance request signal. 본 개시는 능동 후방 추돌 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 구체적으로 본 개시에 따른 능동 후방 추돌 장치는 자차량과 미리 정해진 거리 안에서 자차량과 동일한 차선에서 주행중인 전방주행차량, 충돌위험차량 및 인접 차선을 주행중인 타차량 중 적어도 하나를 감지하여 정보를 획득하는 센서부 및 충돌위험차량과 자차량의 충돌가능성을 산출하고, 충돌가능성이 임계점 이상인 경우, 충돌위험차량의 주행에 대응하여 회피 가능 영역이 존재하는 곳부터 우선하여 회피 방향을 결정하되, 회피 방향은 자차량의 진행 차선, 인접 차선 순으로 결정하고, 결정된 회피 방향이 회피 가능 영역이면, 결정된 회피 방향으로 자차량이 회피하도록 제어하고, 결정된 회피 방향에 주행 중인 전방주행차량 및 타차량이 있다면, 전방주행차량 및 타차량에 회피 요청 신호를 전송하고, 회피 요청 신호에 대한 전방주행차량 및 타차량의 응답에 대응하여 자차량이 회피하도록 제어하는 제어부를 포함한다.
