The present invention relates to a safety control system in a case of a failure of an autonomous vehicle. Provided is the safety control system in case of the failure of the autonomous vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention. The safety control system in an event of the failure of the autonomous vehicle to ensure safety of a vehicle in which an autonomous driving function has failed comprises: a sensor unit for detecting another vehicle approaching a host vehicle; a determination unit for determining whether the autonomous driving function of the host vehicle is malfunctioning; a deceleration determination unit configured to determine a deceleration of the vehicle based on the direction in which the other vehicle approaches the host vehicle sensed by the sensor unit; and a driving control unit configured to perform deceleration control of the host vehicle based on the deceleration determined by the deceleration determination unit. An object of the present invention is to provide the safety control system in case of the failure of the autonomous vehicle which controls the deceleration of the vehicle. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 자율 주행 차량의 고장 시 안전 제어 시스템을 제공한다. 자율 주행 기능이 고장난 차량의 안전을 도모하기 위한 자율 주행 차량의 고장 시 안전 제어 시스템은 자차량에 접근하는 타차량을 감지하는 센서부, 상기 자차량의 자율 주행 기능의 고장 여부를 판단하는 판단부, 상기 센서부가 감지한 상기 타차량이 상기 자차량에 접근하는 방향에 기초하여 차량의 감속도를 결정하는 감속도 결정부, 상기 감속도 결정부가 결정한 상기 감속도에 기초하여 상기 자차량의 감속 제어를 수행하는 구동 제어부를 포함한다.
