Summary:The present disclosure relates to a device and a method for controlling steering, which comprises: a reception unit receiving an ignition off signal and an ignition on signal and receiving relative steering angle information received from relative steering angle sensor measuring only a relative angle of a steering wheel; a calculation unit calculating section information by using the relative steering angle information and calculating absolute steering angle information based on the section information and the relative steering angle information; and a control unit determining whether an absolute steering angle calculation condition calculating the absolute steering angle information is satisfied even after ignition off and generating an ignition off control signal according to a determination result. The present disclosure uses other sensor information and collision sensing information to detect and correct the accuracy of a measurement value of an absolute steering angle. 본 개시는 조향 제어장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 이그니션 오프 신호 및 이그니션 온 신호를 수신하고, 조향휠의 상대각만을 측정하는 상대 조향각 센서로부터 수신되는 상대 조향각 정보를 수신하는 수신부와, 상대 조향각 정보를 이용하여 구간 정보를 산출하며, 상대 조향각 정보 및 구간 정보에 기초하여 절대 조향각 정보를 산출하는 산출부와, 이그니션 오프 신호가 수신되는 경우, 이그니션 오프 후에도 절대 조향각 정보를 산출할 수 있는 절대 조향각 산출조건이 만족되었는지 판단하고, 판단 결과에 따라 이그니션 오프 제어신호를 생성하는 제어부를 포함한다.
