A method and a device for dispensing a fragrance composition during a cleaning cycle in a household appliance are disclosed. A movable dispensing device movably arranged within a household appliance comprises a first compartment containing a detergent and a second compartment separated from the first compartment and containing a fragrance composition. A change in the position of the movable dispensing device in the appliance is determined.
